about

With a background in Art History and Business Psychology, followed by ten years of working across different roles in Human Resources, making flowers a full-time profession was certainly not something Stella saw coming. And yet, while her creative side took a back seat during those ten corporate years, her love for art, aesthetics and creativity never left her.

Stella’s unique style is routed in her educational background in art history and her deep admiration for natures beauty, purity and wildness. Whilst relying on principles of form and colour she allows herself to freely react to what is in front of her rather than sticking to a particular style of floristry.

Today, her motivation to work with flowers is still the same as it was when The Flower Habit with Stella started as a small side project: to spread and demonstrate the power flowers have one our body and mind, their ability to make us feel calm, safe, valued and joyful. When looking at flowers through this holistic lens, they become a necessity, rather than a choice and with that deserve to be at the centre of every home and occasion.

Not just Flowers. A Lifestyle.

The below podcast was recorded during her early days, and will give you more insights into her journey and motivation to start working with flowers.

thank you note

I am deeply grateful to the people closest to me who encouraged me to take the leap, to the florists and flower growers who have generously shared their knowledge and welcomed me into this world, and to Saint Joseph, who has guided me from the very beginning and, in many ways, led me towards discovering this path in the first place.

Thank you for being here and for following along. I hope that, in one way or another The Flower Habit has already inspired you to bring more flowers into your own life.

Thank you,

Stella
